Mobile Phones Get More Thumb Play Than Ear Time
14 March 2008People are using their thumbs more than their ears as mobile phones are changing from voice-centric devices into community portals, according to Gemini Mobile. It cites Pew Internet and American Life Project as reporting that consumers are attached to their cell phones because they are the “go to” device and have become a part of everyday social life. Consumers especially the “millennials” are always connected to e-mail, news, contacts and pictures, it says. Gemini Mobile says its eXplo 3D mobile client-server platform offers end-users mobile content without having to go through various menus and sub-menus to navigate through their phones. It unifies media and content on mobile devices that will, it says, “completely transform how people use wireless devices to network and explore with others” such activities as sharing photos in real time, watching videos, chatting and exploring the Net.
