22 February 2008

Thumbplay, which calls itself the largest and fastest growing mobile entertainment content destination in the States, has a new distribution agreement with Sony BMG that’ll add more than 7,000 pieces of content from Sony BMG to Thumbplay’s mobile entertainment catalog.

Thumbplay’s four million or so users will be able to access ringtones, music videos, wallpaper, voice clips and mobile games from Sony BMG.

Thumbplay’s CEO and founder Are Traasdahl said the deal “reinforces Thumbplay’s position as the leading US provider of mobile content to consumers” who are looking for mobile entertainment.

Thumbplay has more than 80,000 pieces of mobile entertainment content under license, including ringtones, wallpapers, games, videos, voice tones and text-based services.

It has deals to integrate its mobile entertainment content catalog into the Web and mobile portals of AOL, MSN Mobile, iLike and Qloud.
