Sony Expands Its PlayNow with 5M New Tracks

Sony Ericsson unveiled the latest musical infusion to its PlayNow, an over-the-air mobile music download service, by announcing deals with 10 major record labels totaling over five million new tracks. Sony also showed off the design of PlayNow arena and launched PlayNow Uncut – a.k.a. M-Buzz – a promotion area for unsigned and up-and-coming artists.

PlayNow was launched in February 2004 as a listen-then-purchase service for ringtones. It is now available in 32 different countries and its annual free and premium downloads have together hit the 200 million mark.
