eAgency’s Radar Monitors Kids’ Cell Phone Calls and Messages
4 January 2008eAgency’s Radar software enables parents to monitor and block SMS messages and received calls. The company will be announcing some new features at CES. For text messages, parents can see full text and the number or contact name it came from. Parents can also see call times and durations of phone calls. Numbers can be blocked from messaging and calling users’ children.
The program is partnered with www.mymobilewatchdog.com, which is the site parents access to sign up for the program and monitor their children’s phones. Parents can also opt to receive text-message versions of these notifications.
The ad on the site throws out some scary statistics like one in seven children being unwontedly sexually solicited every year. At CES, we’ll be sitting down with eAgency to ask about their statistics, new policies and improvements and about whether or not the cell phone user knows they’re being monitored.
