It’s an activity at the essence of what it is to be human, Google media platforms director Eileen Naughton said to magazine executives at the AMC convention this week in Boca Raton, as reported by mediabistro.com. In her talk, titled “Insights From Google,” Naughton urged the magazine companies to make their content as accessible on the Net as possible so they could benefit from the same kind of online popularity that has made success of such as Google, Yahoo and Facebook. “Newer entrants to the media landscape are quite disruptive to the media status quo,” she said. “Tech companies now sit squarely in the middle of the media space and these media interlopers are innovating the ways advertising is targeted, measured, bought, priced and sold.” Google’s view of the long tail of media popularity is shown at:
